US’ standard pipe imports grow in May

According to the final Census Bureau data from the US Department of Commerce (USDOC), the US imported around 95,700 tons of standard pipes in May this year, rising by nearly 46% compared to the previous month and also increasing by 94% from the same month a year earlier.

Among them, the imports from the UAE accounted for the largest proportion, totaling roughly 17,100 tons, a month-on-month surge of 286.1% and a year-on-year hike of 79.3%. Other main import sources included Canada (around 15,000 tons), Spain (around 12,500 tons), Turkey (around 12,000 tons), and Mexico (around 9,500 tons).

During the period, the import value totaled roughly US$161 million, up by 49% month on month and soaring by 172.7% year on year.
