China’s Belt and Road

The General Administration of Customs released the table of total value of import and export commodities by country (region) in April. Statistics show that Vietnam, Malaysia and Russia have occupied the top three positions in China ’s trade volume with countries along the “Belt and Road” for four consecutive months. Among the top 20 countries along the “Belt and Road” in terms of trade volume, China ’s trade with Iraq, Vietnam and Turkey saw the largest increase, with an increase of 21.8%, 19.1% and 13.8% respectively over the same period last year.

From January to April 2020, the top 20 countries along the “Belt and Road” trade volume are: Vietnam, Malaysia, Thailand, Singapore, Indonesia, Philippines, Myanmar, Russia, Poland, Czech Republic, India, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, UAE, Iraq, Turkey, Oman, Iran, Kuwait, Kazakhstan.

According to data previously released by the General Administration of Customs, in the first four months, China ’s total imports and exports to countries along the “Belt and Road” reached 2.76 trillion yuan, an increase of 0.9%, accounting for 30.4% of China ’s total foreign trade, and its proportion increased by 1.7 percentage points. China ’s trade with the countries along the “Belt and Road” has maintained its growth trend against the trend for the first four consecutive months, and has become a key force in stabilizing China ’s foreign trade fundamentals under the epidemic.
