The national construction steel oscillates weakly

This week, the nationwide construction steel prices fluctuated weakly, and from the perspective of price changes, the overall situation was strong in the south and weak in the north. The main reason is that the north is affected by the weather, and demand has entered the regular off-season. In the southern region, driven by the upward spiral in this cycle, demand has been more active. From the perspective of industrial data, the current steel mills have considerable immediate profits, and the production enthusiasm has increased, and the output has rebounded slightly. However, the destocking of factories and libraries accelerated this week, and the social libraries continued to maintain a downward trend. Therefore, the demand for data showed a rare rebound this week, and pessimism was suppressed.

[Prices] Market prices have been mixed this week, and the difference in demand between the north and the south has led to the overall trend in prices that are strong in the south and weak in the north. In terms of thread, prices in East China, South China, and Central China rose slightly, with an increase of 20-60 yuan/ton. In addition, the Southwest, North China, Northeast, and West regions showed a decline, with a decline of 20-90 yuan/ton, and the national weekly average price fell by 9 yuan/ton. The price of wire rod was weaker than that of thread this week. Among them, prices in central China increased by 50 yuan/ton; in addition, prices in eastern, southwest, northeast, and northwestern China fell between 20-90 yuan/ton; while prices in southern and northern China remained flat. The national weekly average price fell by 12 yuan/ton.

[Supply] According to Mysteel statistics, in terms of building materials, the increase this week was significantly larger than that of last week. Except for South China, Northwest and Southwest, the rest of the regions have increased, and East China has the most prominent performance. From the perspective of provinces, Jiangsu Province has the largest increase. The main reason lies in the resumption of production/furnace conditions of the representative steel mills in the province. In terms of hot coils, the decline continued, mainly in North China and East China. This week, new steel plants in North China were overhauled, and steel plants in East China were affected by blast furnace overhauls, which led to a decline in the supply of molten iron.
