Domestic construction steel prices rose and fell in April

The average price of domestic construction steel rose sharply in March. As of March 31, the national average price of rebar in major cities was 5,076 yuan/ton, a month-on-month increase of 208 yuan/ton. Prices in major cities such as Shanghai, Guangzhou and Beijing all rose sharply, with rebar prices in the three cities rising by RMB 230/ton, RMB 160/ton and RMB 220/ton respectively month-on-month.

March coincided with the production resumption cycle, and the operating rate of construction steel mills has rebounded. However, due to the continuous shrinking of production profits, the room for recovery of the operating rate is relatively limited.

Affected by the low production profit, the growth rate of steel mill output was significantly lower than expected.

Throughout April, the complex international situation has a huge impact on energy products, and the production and sales costs of the domestic construction steel industry chain will rise significantly, which will provide a strong support for construction steel prices.
