Recently, the price difference between domestic and overseas is gradually widening, and China’s steel exports have regained price competitiveness. At present, the hot coil quotations of China’s mainstream steel mills are around US$810-820/ton, down by US$50/ton week-on-week, and the actual transaction has been lower than US$800/ton. In the context of the continued sluggish domestic trade, some businesses have begun to turn their attention to exports, but subject to certain restrictions and at the same time accumulating weaker overseas demand, actual export orders have not shown a significant increase. In terms of long products, although the price of rebar in China has also fallen a lot, the current quotation still has no price advantage, and the price difference between domestic and overseas is more than US$20/ton.
