Introduction

Square Steel Pipe and Rectangular Steel Pipe, collectively known as Hollow Sections (SHS & RHS), are manufactured from strip steel through processing and rolling. The production process typically involves uncoiling, leveling, crimping, and welding the strip into a round tube, which is then roll-formed into a square or rectangular shape and cut to the required length.

Compared with solid bars, hollow sections offer superior strength-to-weight ratios, enabling lighter and more economical structural designs. With smooth surfaces, precise dimensional tolerances, and excellent weldability, our square and rectangular steel pipes adapt to a wide range of structural and mechanical applications. We offer SHS sizes from 10×10 mm to 500×500 mm, RHS sizes from 10×20 mm to 600×400 mm, customizable wall thicknesses of 0.5–40.0 mm, and lengths up to 18 meters. Multiple surface finishes including hot-rolled, cold-rolled, and hot-dip galvanized are available.

Square and rectangular steel pipes are primarily manufactured by cold-forming processes using high-frequency electric resistance welding (ERW), or alternatively by TIG welding. The complete standardized production process includes raw material preparation, roll-forming, welding, sizing, surface treatment, and rigorous quality inspection, ensuring dimensionally stable, high-strength and corrosion-resistant pipes compliant with international standards.

Raw Material Preparation: Premium hot-rolled or cold-rolled steel coils are selected and processed by uncoiling, leveling, and edge trimming to ensure stable forming quality.

Roll-Forming & Welding: Strip steel is progressively formed through multiple forming rolls into a round tube, then welded by high-frequency ERW or TIG. The welded tube is then passed through sizing rolls to achieve the final square or rectangular shape.

Heat Treatment & Straightening: Post-weld heat treatment and straightening are applied to relieve residual stress, optimize internal microstructure, and meet structural and mechanical engineering standards.

Surface Finishing: Available finishes include hot-rolled, cold-rolled, lightly oiled, hot-dip galvanized, and electro-galvanized. Hot-dip galvanizing provides superior corrosion protection for outdoor and marine applications.

Cutting & End Finishing: Pipes are cut to precise lengths with square-cut ends and burrs removed, ready for installation.

Quality Inspection & Packaging: Finished pipes undergo strict NDT flaw detection, tensile testing, and manual screening. Only fully qualified products are packaged and delivered to ensure stable and reliable performance.

Test & QC

All square and rectangular steel pipes are manufactured in strict accordance with official industry standards and undergo comprehensive systematic testing before shipment, ensuring zero potential defects and complete structural integrity for industrial use.


Tensile Testing is implemented as a mandatory full-inspection procedure. This core test verifies that each finished pipe fully meets specification requirements for yield strength, tensile strength, and elongation.


Flattening Test ensures ductility and sound weld quality of the finished product.


Chemical Composition Analysis guarantees material purity and compliance with grade specifications.


After passing all quality tests, pipes undergo customized finishing and standardized packaging.
